The library, a hallowed sanctuary of knowledge, has always held a special place in my heart. My first encounter with this haven of books was during my transition to Islamiah High School. Among the many attractions that the school offered, the library stood out as the most captivating. It was here that I was introduced to the world of literature, a world that would forever shape my understanding of the world and myself.
Our librarian, Janab Abbas Ali sahib, was a formidable figure. A man of stern demeanor and unwavering principles, he was a true guardian of the library. His strict adherence to the rules and regulations instilled a sense of discipline and respect among the students. Under his watchful eye, the library became a place of quiet contemplation and intellectual pursuit.
The original library building, which has aged and weakened over time, is due for a significant upgrade. The management intends to construct a new two-story building. The ground floor will be dedicated to library facilities, while the upper floors will accommodate six classrooms.
The library was more than just a collection of books. It was a portal to other worlds, a place where history unfolded before our eyes and imagination took flight. We were captivated by the black and white historical films screened in the library, and our laughter echoed through the halls as we watched the antics of Laurel and Hardy and the adventures of Tom and Jerry.
The books themselves were treasures to be cherished. We were drawn to the fantastical tales of Gulliver's travels to Lilliput and Brobdingnag, the heartwarming story of Oliver Twist, and the intriguing adventures of Sherlock Holmes. The library was a treasure trove of knowledge, waiting to be discovered.
I still remember the distinctive smell of old books, their pages yellowed with time. The shelves, made of teakwood, were lined with countless volumes, each one a testament to the enduring power of the written word. The high ceiling and British architecture added to the library's timeless charm.
The library was more than just a place to borrow books. It was a community hub, a place where students gathered to learn, discuss, and grow. The librarian's card tray, the date stamp, and the hushed atmosphere created a sense of reverence and respect for the books and the knowledge they contained.

As I look back on my time in the library, I am filled with gratitude for the experiences I had there. The library was a sanctuary, a place where I could escape the noise and chaos of the world and immerse myself in the beauty of language and the power of ideas. It is a place that I will always hold dear in my heart.
